I say yes. That they volunteer is NO EXCUSE! Soldier serve at the whim of their leaders. Therefore these leaders, including Bush, have a responsibilty to take care of the soldiers and not send them off to foolish wars to die as cannon fodder. This is exactly what has happened in Iraq! Bush just rushed into this war with no concern about the possibiity that there were no WMD’s (none found by inspectors, yet Bush ignored them). So, now you have soldiers doing multiple 18 month tours. No protective armor til recently, no end in sight in 4.5 years. Bush has mistreated the military. They volunteer to serve the country responsibly, but they are not treated responsibly. Bush is no war president, he lives like a King not a war president. Remember $50 million spent on his inauguration 2005, while troops lacked money for new armor!
Laura Bush’s dress costs $$$ while troops had no money for bullet proof vests. The French beheaded their king/Queen for similar abuse of people.

Do you think that the Dragon Skin bullet-proof vest is better than the Interceptor vest?
If yes, why is the government so slow to accept the idea?
If no, what are the pros and cons of each vest?

Rangers are fine soldiers and so are the rest of the guys, absolutely. When the USA has won the war, however, they lose the peace. When I pick up a M16 I am damn sure I will shoot in my foot and I prefer that much above shooting civilains. Do you have the b…s to go in a conflict area without arms, to get scolded by the refugees ? Do you care enough to stay, when the rangers have gone ? A red cross is a poor substitute for a bullet proof vest. Am I less courageous than combatants ? Am I a coward and a liberal, while I have been on more battlefields than any ranger ? (soldiers of course, not officers )

I have a question regarding the bullet proof vest the soldiers in Iraq are wearing. Don’t they only stop smaller bullets like 9 mm? Do they even help then when they are getting shot by the big ass AK-47 rounds? Thanks!
