Aj asked:

I have a question regarding the bullet proof vest the soldiers in Iraq are wearing. Don’t they only stop smaller bullets like 9 mm? Do they even help then when they are getting shot by the big ass AK-47 rounds? Thanks!

they are generally rated as class III-A which can stop the M43 Soviet designed 7.62 x39mm cartridge. This is the soft body armor vest with the plates installed in the front and rear. Once one of these plates has been damaged however, it ability to protect the wearer is greatly reduced.

it does protect them. it works nicly. could be better, but with more strength comes limited mobility. its a comprimise thing.
